Firewise Application Submitted + More | 08/16/22

Dear Neighbors,

Welcome to our new members! The recent mailing and flyer postings increased our membership to 54 of the 127 homes on the hillside. Past emails can be found on our website, www.elcamfirewise.com, under the newsletter heading. Please continue reaching out to neighbors who may not have signed up.

Here are a few important updates. I am very pleased to announce that the El Caminito Firewise Application has been submitted. We should be hearing if it was accepted or rejected in the next two to six weeks. Many of our neighbor Firewise groups had to make some changes to their first submission, but we are well on our way. Jesse Markham filed paperwork to establish us as a A Non-profit Public Benefit Foundation. Thank you Jesse. The website www.elcamfirewise.com has had a make-over. When Vince Hunt and I started the website, we were creating as we went. Now that the content choices have settled down, it is better organized, streamlined and useful. Please take a moment to find useful links, watch two educational videos, read the Three Year Action Plan and the Community Wildfire Risk Assessment. This would not have been at all possible without the patient, creative, and supportive help of our neighbor Lynne Iantorno who is a graphic and web designer. Her photos of the view from our hillside, with and without smoke are a reminder of what we have at stake. Thank you Lynne! Watch for another email coming up soon with a Save the Date for a fall meeting, hopefully at somewhere fun like the Community Center on Ford Road.
